Jonathan and Alisa started Dog Park Publishing in the summer of 2011 after adopting their boxer/pit bull mix, Farfel, from a Jersey City, NJ shelter. They saw how many pit bull-type dogs were in the shelter compared to any other breed. They also saw how Farfel and other pit bulls turned into safe, loving dogs if raised properly. So, they published two calendars for 2012 featuring rescued and rehabilitated pit bulls. The calendars received some good media attention (PeoplePets.com listed it as one of their favorites) and “pit bull positive” people started following their social media network.dog-clothing-2

The mission of Dog Park Publishing is to showcase and celebrate dogs, pit bulls in particular, through their calendars and products as majestic, affectionate, and intelligent animals. In addition, Dog Park Publishing is doing its part to support all animal shelters and rescues. They understand that most shelters are underfunded and their staffs and volunteers work diligently for the sake of the countless animals that come through their doors each year. Their company, which advocates that all owners spay/neuter their dogs and cats, donates a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of all of our merchandise to various rescue groups across the United States.2017-calendar

Since its inception, Dog Park Publishing has donated more than $180,000 to rescues and shelters. They support more than 150 animal non-profits including:  A and S Rescue (IL), Adore-A-Bull Rescue (OH), Animal Responsibility For Fayette (MO), Atlanta Doberman Pinscher Rescue (GA), Bakersfield Pitty Crew Rescue (CA), Barks of Love Animal Rescue(CA), Bella’s Bully Buddies (MD), Blackdog All Breed Dog Rescue (IL), Blind Dog Rescue Alliance (CT), Brass City Rescue Alliance (CT), Brew City Bully Club (WI), Bullies and Buddies (CA), and Carpathia Paws, Inc. (GA).accessories-1

Farfel, a brindle bundle of furry love, is Dog Park Publishing’s mascot and inspiration. He is smart, expressive, impish and a great kisser. He loves attention, children (Jonathan and Alisa have a 3 year old at home who has pulled his tail, ears, and fur without
incident) and swimming in their pool.dog-clothing-1

The response to Dog Park Publishing has been fantastic.  They have more than 1 million followers of Farfel on their social
media networks. They have more than 1,000 high-quality, made in the USA products available on their website, and have shipped products to all 50 states and more than 40 countries worldwide, including Singapore, Israel, Chile, and Sweden.accessories-2jewelry-1

Jonathan and Alisa believe that the vast majority of pit bull attacks can be directly traced back to human ignorance, cruelty or laziness. Their goal is to showcase and celebrate the pit bull as a majestic, affectionate and intelligent breed that is sorely misunderstood. clothing-1PIT BULL-LOVERS
